Eventually I am able to lay my hands on a hard COPY of the book published in January 1921 by A British missionary George T. Basden titled 'Among the Ibos of Nigeria'. Basden was an Anthropologist and also an Anglican Reverend. He lived in Igbo land for many years and spoke the language. He observed and studied the customs and traditions of the people and documented his findings in this book. On page 11 in the Preface he had warned that ANYBODY wishing to live among the igbos should acquaint himself with LEVITICAL laws. He clearly observed the similarity between Igbo native laws and the Laws of Moses. This is the reason the Igbos were able to build an egalitarian society. Then the Christian Missionaries came..........The rest is history.
#ME: Can you now see that they were not here to preach but to pick everything about us and feed back to those who sent them so as to know where to attack from. And It actual worked perfectly for them because they attacked succeeded fully. It's just very painful our people haven't read the handwriting in the wall over a century and beyond. The earlier we begin to question things the better, even if it demands we abandon completely that religion brought to us to rediscover ourselves, better for us all!
