As the Nigerian government has practically showed a total disrespect, flagrant disdain and open deviance against International laws, conventions and protocols governing self-determination on the issue of Biafra agitation and their peaceful quest for a referendum, Nigeria has placed herself as a lawless country before the world which deserves no place in the comity of modern and civilized nations under the umbrella of the United Nations. The Nigerian government deserves nothing at the moment other than stiff sanctions from the United Nations, European Union, African Union, ECOWAS due to high rate of human right abuses on Biafrans over their demand for a referendum which is in line with International Laws. Nigeria diplomatic relationship with USA, France, UK, Israel, Turkey and Germany must be completely severed because of the unquestionable integrity of these nations which cannot stand side by side with the Nigerian government defiance to International Laws.
It could be recalled that recently the Nigerian government took a lawless step of designating the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) worldwide as a terrorist organisation after a week long brutal massacre of Biafran youths by a military operation codenamed "OPERATION PYTHON DANCE II" where hundreds of Biafran agitators were sent to their early graves for no reason other than that they want Biafra restored . After a week long brutal and condemnable military siege in Biafra land and unprecedented bloodshed contained in the clampdown against the Biafran people, the Nigerian government consummated the atrocious lawlessness on the peaceful people of Biafra by designating the whole nation of indigenous people as terrorists without any fair hearing from the people.
As developed nations of the world like United States of America, United Kingdom, Turkey, Israel, Germany and International organizations like UN and EU rejected the declaration of IPOB as a terrorist organization, the Nigerian government openly declared that the position of these advanced nations are inconsequential to Nigeria government's decision in tagging harmless and peaceful agitators as a terrorist group. As it is at the moment, the Nigerian government has gazetted the proclamation of IPOB as a terrorist organisation in the Nigerian government official gazette not minding the fact that the world has rejected the designation of IPOB as a terrorist organisation.
By this flagrant contempt against the world powers, it means that Nigeria has no respect for international treaties, charters and conventions which she voluntarily signed. The International Community should save its reputation by sanctioning Nigeria. United Nations should not sacrifice the binding of its Charters on member States because of Nigeria's defiance against the laws. The Nigeria government has declared, systematically open, lack of respect for US government, UK government and the European Union authority by declaring her position on an issue of international debate as inconsequential to Nigeria. A visit to most Nigerian local bloggers websites will convince you of the government's declaration of US and EU position on IPOB as inconsequential.
The Nigerian government has shown that she has no respect for human rights in Nigeria. It is time for United Nations and other powerful nations to wade in and force Nigeria to organize a referendum for Biafra without further delay because Nigeria government is now living above the international laws with impunity. There is no how Nigeria will be going lawlessly and treating international laws with contempt and a country of high integrity like US, France and UK will go ahead to hobnob with Nigeria in the face of international impunity. That will mean the International community encouraging unchecked lawlessness and impunity among member States of UN.
Now that the Nigerian government has lawlessly declared IPOB a terrorist organisation, if the world fails to act fast by compelling her to organize a referendum for Biafra, the Nigerian government is going to hide under the declaration to consolidate their genocide on the Biafran populace. It is going to be an operation shoot at sight of anybody advocating or associating with the Indigenous People of Biafra. It will be good for the world to ask the Nigerian government what IPOB in Biafra land does that is against the law. Also, what is it that the Indigenous People of Biafra in UK, Israel, USA, Germany, France and other countries do, that is different from those in Biafra land, which made them to become terrorists?
On this final note, I want to tell the world that the Nigerian government is trying to create an escape route for her principal officers found culpable in several human right abuses against IPOB as documented by Amnesty International.
