Diaspora Group Launches Medical Mission Fund To Africa

A US based Nigerian community, the Eket Development Congress (EDC) says it is launching a Medical Fund Mission to Africa on the July 14 and 15, 2012.

In a release jointly signed by the its National President, Ms Margaret Itauma and the Chair, Board of Trustees , Chief Esin Abia says the mission is to help ameliorate the poor health condition bedeviling the under prevailed people mostly in Nigeria and offer scholarship to indigent students.

It says the medical and scholarship mission fund launch which take place at Phoenix Event Center, Houston and HYATT PLACE, Sugarland , respectively during the 2012 EDC Convention in the State of Texas, USA will draw a creme de la creme from US, UK and Nigeria.

The statement clearly appends that the Mayor of Houston, Annise D. Parker is billed to declare the even opened. It added that event, apart from medical and scholarship launch, will equally witnessed different African cultural events and awards to deserving persons.

Also in a telephone chat with news men, the Head of Event Publicity, Mr. Chris Oduok disclosed that the Eket Community in Texas with her partners was agog to hosting the guests from far and near and hoping to give them a distinguished and regale treat throughout their stay.

"We have put in the necessary and robust mechanism in place to ensure a hassle-free and smooth take-off of the event, just as we are prepared to host our revered guests who are coming from different parts of the globe. " Mr Oduok noted.
